Privacy Policy

Dyslexia Express is a free structured literacy website run by Dyslexia Express LLC and created by Laura Picconi. This page explains, in plain language, what information the site does and does not collect.
The short version
- Students can play every game without an account, a login, or an email address.
- We do not ask students for their names or any other personal information.
- We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking tools, and we do not sell or share anyone’s information.
Information we do not collect
There are no student accounts, profiles, chat features, comments, or uploads. Games do not use a microphone or camera, and nothing a student does in a game is sent to us.
Information saved on your own device
To make the games work smoothly, some games save small bits of information in the browser on the device being used, such as sound and motion settings, a personal-best time, or progress through a longer game. This information stays on that device, is never sent to us, and can be removed by clearing the browser’s site data.
Words spoken by the games
Some games read practice words aloud using the device’s built-in voice. The voice is provided by the device or browser (for example, Google, Apple, or Microsoft). Depending on the device and its settings, the browser may use an online voice service to speak the word, under that company’s own privacy policy. Only the practice word or instruction is spoken; no personal information is involved.
Website hosting and security
Like nearly all websites, our host (Hostinger) keeps standard server records, such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working. We use these records only for site operation and security.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress sets cookies only for site administrators who log in to manage the site.
Leaderboards
Game leaderboards are not currently turned on. If they are added in the future, they will use only 1 to 3 letters of initials, never names, and this policy will be updated before they are turned on.
Teacher resources and outside links
The For Teachers section includes links to other websites, including Amazon and Teachers Pay Teachers. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. When you follow a link to another website, you leave Dyslexia Express, and that website’s own privacy policy applies (for example, Amazon may use cookies to record that you arrived from this site). Affiliate links are kept in the teacher section and are never placed inside student games.
Children’s privacy
Dyslexia Express is designed to be used by children with the guidance of a parent, teacher, or other trusted adult. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information (for example, by email), please contact us and we will delete it.
If you email us
If you contact us by email, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. Please do not include students’ names or personal details in messages.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
